Half Moon Lake is located in the Bridger-Teton National It lies nestled among the aspens and pines in The Wind River Mountains Forest just outside of Pinedale Wyoming a town rich in history and spirit of the West. Surrounded by willows the lake’s wild and beautiful countryside is framed by towering peaks over 13,000 ft. high. Half Moon Lake is a piedmont lake formed by glacial scouring and a terminal moraine dam and evidence of its glacial past is all around.
Fishing, boating, camping and hiking are very popular at Half Moon. Brown trout, brook trout, rainbows, whitefish and Mackinaw (lake trout) await the angler on this jewel of Wind River Mountain lakes. Half Moon Lake has fishing adventures for the fly fisherman or spin caster of any age. Fish for deep water lake trout or try some surface fishing for rainbows and browns.
Half Moon Lake Lodge has a marina that includes 14 slips, some of which can be rented by the day, month or season and conveniently located fuel pumps.
